Fans and Industry Insiders Encouraged To Speak Up
BARNESVILLE, Ga. – (April 26, 2010) – Georgia-based family group and Mansion Entertainment recording artist The English Family is seeking the help of friends, family, fans, and industry professionals with choosing their new single. The group currently has a poll on their website and on Facebook where they are encouraging individuals to cast their vote for the group’s new single. The choices are between “Out of the Wilderness” and “Built On Sand” – both from the group’s critically acclaimed release Out of the Wilderness.
“We love both of these songs, but we thought who better to help us choose the next single than those that actually listen to the radio and drive this industry,” mentioned Phillip English of the English Family. “So far, we’ve gotten such positive feedback from this.”
The English Family hopes the new single will hit the desks of radio programmers all across the country next month. It will be the follow-up to the group’s Top 40 hit “Send Down Your Angels.”

Much of the success of the song can be attributed to the successful radio promo tour that the family embarked on last year. Throughout the last portion of 2009, the family visited over a dozen stations and logged over 4,000 miles on their bus. The English Family kicked off their radio promo tour at Sheffield, Alabama’s WBTG before visiting other stations in Tennessee, Mississippi, Florida, Kentucky, and ending up in North and South Carolina.
The song is the group’s debut single from their Mansion Records recording Out of the Wilderness. The family was recently in Branson, Missouri recording tracks and vocals for the group’s first release with the label. The first release will be entitled Out of the Wilderness.
Out of the Wilderness features that familiar Southern Gospel sound that the English Family is known for with a unique blues and soul twist – much in part to the increasing talent of 15-year old Jacob English as a songwriter and vocalist. Jacob wrote three of the album’s seven original songs.
Phillip English of the English Family said, “This is just the right move at the right time for our family. We have been so impressed with Mansion Records. They’ve treated us very well, and we anticipate many great things with this partnership.”
“Not only is this family of five a very talented group of singers, but they write most of their own material,” mentioned Gregg Gray of Mansion Records. “Although some of it is mainstream Southern Gospel, there is a thread of southern rhythm and blues that makes their style very unique. We're expecting great things from the English Family.”
Out of the Wilderness is slated to release in late August – just in time for the National Quartet Convention in Louisville, Kentucky this September.
Out of the Wilderness’ debut single will be released in the coming weeks. More information on that will be forthcoming. In the meantime – fans can call and request the English Family’s current fan favorite singles “Take It To Jesus” and “Fresh Manna” – both of which have become regular fixtures on the GospelMusicTimes.com Top 100 Fan Chart.
The English Family recently reached a booking agreement with Thomas Spradlen and Spradlen Promotions.
Many souls were touched during these three wonderful services in Frostproof Florida! Many came to the alter for prayer! Thanks to Thomas Spradlen and Spradlen Promotions for all of his hard work. Thomas did an awesome job of making sure The English Family was taken care of. A Big Thank You goes out to Pastor Bass at Southside Baptist Church, Pastor Collins at God's Assembly and all of the great people of Twin Lakes Resort. We look forward to seeing all of our new friends again.
We expected our songs to place well but we are continually amazed at what God is doing with our songs "Fresh Manna" and "Take It To Jesus"!
The group’s single, “Fresh Manna”, debuted at #90 on the September 2008 issue of Christian Voice Magazine’s Southern Gospel Top 100. The song rose to #78 for the October issue of the chart, and it will rise to #49 for next month’s issue.
